Location experience

Show people the way in, not just the address

A maps listing ends at the street. A tinymap page goes the last hundred feet: the entrance to use, where to park, the lift to the second floor, the side gate after dark — each its own pin with a photo and a line of directions.

Up to ten pins per place

Entrance, gate, reception, parking, drop-off, pickup, lift, stairs, toilets, security, amenity, show home, sales office — each kind with its own icon.

A photo on every pin

Show what the door looks like. Visitors match the picture to what is in front of them instead of reading a description.

Unit, building and floor

Three labelled fields — unit, building, floor — that Google has nowhere to put, shown on the card in the same order every time.

Directions to the right spot

Each pin opens turn-by-turn directions in the visitor's own maps app, to the pin rather than the centre of the building.

Location experience: questions

What is a location experience on tinymap?
It is the set of pins inside one place — the entrance, parking, lift, reception and so on — each with a photo and directions, shown on the place's tinymap page and in the tinymap app.
How many pins can one place have?
Up to ten. The first is the place itself; the others mark the spots inside or around it.
Does it work for places Google doesn't know?
Yes. You can drop a pin by hand for a stall, a plot under construction or a gate with no street number.
